Scott started showing as a youngster in local 4-H and open shows. Following high school he served an apprenticeship with Terry Thompson riding game horses and reiners.
In 2006 he won the NRHA Limited Open World Championship with Kali The Great. He has trained and shown multiple NRHA open, futurity and derby winners since. In addition to reining, he is also known in the Western Pleasure and Halter arenas as well. He has trained and shown Congress winners and AQHA Champions.
He believes that fundamental training of horses is the same, no matter what show style. Horses need to be responsive and supple while remaining mentally and physically keen. This is the reason people of all disciplines send their horses to him for training.
